Frictionless Records congealed over the course of a few months by conspirators from a few New Jersey bands. The idea was simple: everyone had something to contribute -- technical know-how, recording equipment, a steady hand with a soldering iron or a salesman's smoothness with a booking agent, not to mention unique and thoughtful music. We all appreciated each other's approach, and enjoyed each other's music. So why not combine forces?

A few three-martini subway rides later, Frictionless was born. Using our collective resources, Frictionless bands work together to assist one another in recording, distributing and promoting music. Sometimes we play shows together. Sometimes we don't. Frictionless is less of a label, and more of an artistic collective. All Frictionless musicians have full control over their creations. In turn, Frictionless is supported by the bands themselves, and is an extention of their creative direction.
